Fujitsu CELSIUS Workstations with highest Performance among all Systems with new Intel® processors. |
As of April 1st, Fujitsu CELSIUS Workstations R570 and R670 reached worldwide highest performance numbers among all systems with new Intel® processors in 3 of the 4 SPEC CPU2006 metrics.
SPEC CPU2006 is a collection of integer and floating point centric applications with results reviewed and published by www.spec.org. The benchmarks stress the capabilities of the processors and the memory subsystem. They also benefit from progress in compiler technology.
With a result of 36.3, CELSIUS R570 with 2 Intel® Xeon® X5570 is number 1 of all currently published results for the metrics int_base2006 and fp_base2006. CELSIUS R670 with 2 Intel® Xeon® W5580 is the worldwide leading system with 8 cores for the metrics int_rate_base2006 (249) and fp_rate_base2006 (200).
The metrics int_base2006 and fp_base2006 describe the performance of one, possibly multithreaded application running at a time. This kind of workloads is certainly of special interest for workstations. The other metrics int_rate_base2006 and fp_rate_base2006 evaluate a fully loaded system by running several copies of the same application at a time. Optimal results with this kind of benchmarks require highest quality and stability in all hardware components. Additional 4 metrics without "base" in their name use the same benchmarks as for the base results but allow more aggress compiler optimizations. |
