Mission critical models

SPARC Enterprise M3000

The model M3000 is a new 1-socket entry-level to the SPARC64 VII based family. The M3000 server uses the SPARC64 VII quad-core processor with 2.52 GHz and large 5 MB L2 cache. Each of the cores can issue two threads simultaneously.
The M3000 model also offers – in a space saving compact 2 RU form factor - up to 32 GB memory (8 DIMM slots), 4 hot-plug disk bays and 4 free PCIe slots in addition to the four onboard 1 GbE network interfaces. RAS features include redundant power supplies and fans, core off lining, extended ECC protection, dynamic cache degradation and the eXtended System Control Facility (XSCF) tool that enables remote and overall hardware monitoring.
SPARC Enterprise M4000

The rack-based SPARC Enterprise server M4000 is a highly reliable, enterprise-grade, scalable system that addresses the mid-range processing requirements of mission-critical IT projects. The model M4000 scales up to 4 SPARC64TM VII quad-core or SPARC64TM VI dual-core CPUs, thus having up to 16 cores and 32 threads, and supports extended ECC protection
and memory mirroring. Furthermore there is a mix and match support of quad-core and dual-core processors within the same server and partition. The model M4000 includes built-in no-cost features such as Extended Partitioning (Dynamic System Domains), Dynamic Reconfiguration and Solaris container virtualization, bringing mainframe-class sophisticated resource control to an open systems computing platform. Massive computing power, a resilient system architecture, flexible resource control features, and the advanced capabilities of the Solaris 10 OE combined in the SPARC Enterprise server M4000 provide organizations.
SPARC Enterprise M5000

Compared to the model M4000 the M5000 scales up to 8 SPARC64VII quad-core sockets thus having up to 32 cores, with the same mission-critical features. The SPARC Enterprise Server M5000 is the key to lowering your TCO and decreasing IT complexity by exactly covering your individual needs and save unnecessary headroom costs from the very start.
SPARC Enterprise M8000

The SPARC Enterprise M8000 is an highly reliable, enterprise-grade, vertically-scalable systems that address the mid-range and high-end processing requirements of mission-critical IT projects. The high end model SES M8000 scales up to 16 SPARC64VII quad-core sockets thus having up to 64 cores. With symmetric multiprocessing (SMP)
scalability from one to 16 processors, memory subsystems as large as 512 GB, and high-throughput I/O architectures, SPARC Enterprise servers easily perform the heavy lifting required by workloads such as global enterprise resource planning (ERP), intensive data mining, and complex database transactions. Furthermore, SPARC Enterprise servers include built-in features such as Dynamic System Domains, eXtended system boards, and Dynamic Reconfiguration, bringing mainframe-class sophisticated resource control to an open systems compute platform.

from one to 64 processors, memory. Like the model M8000 the SPARC Enterprise Servers M9000 models address the mid-range and high-end processing requirements of mission-critical IT projects. There are two different floorstand models, the SES M9000-32 with 32 sockets and SES M9000-64 with 64 sockets. Symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) scalability
subsystems as large as 2 TB, and high-throughput I/O architectures, SPARC Enterprise servers easily perform the heavy lifting required by massive workloads.

SPARC Enterprise Servers with their specific models T1000, T2000, M4000, M5000, M8000 and M9000 are the result of the Sun and Fujitsu joint co-operation. SPARC Enterprise Servers are sold and marketed from Sun Microsystems, Fujitsu Ltd. and Fujitsu under the respective company brands but are technically and functionally completely identical in construction and therefore 100% compatible in hardware and firmware.
