Secure mobile connections to the enterprise network automated
with Fujitsu Siemens Computers and MOBILEmanager from adisoft
Munich / Karlsruhe, January 22, 2004 —Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Europe’s leading IT company,
is adding the MOBILEmanager® communications solution from
German software house adisoft to its mobile applications portfolio.
MOBILEmanager provides immediate and secure access to
mission-critical information just about anytime and anywhere.
Facilitating remote access to corporate data and business
applications dramatically increases employee efficiency as well as
return on investment from IT spending. MOBILEmanager is now
available from Fujitsu Siemens Computers and its sales partners in
the EMEA region.
“We expect the market for mobile business in Germany to
grow by 19.7 per cent compared to the previous year (B2B, more than
20 employees, including hardware, software, services, connection
fees and internal personal costs )“, said Frank Heuer,
Consultant at German TechConsult GmbH. With its mobility solutions,
Fujitsu Siemens Computers is aiming to realize the vision of making
services no longer dependent on access, location or type of device.
The company will thus meet all the demands of the modern mobile
professional, including secure mobile data synchronization and
management, seamless and flexible access to business applications
and an end-to-end security solution.
MOBILEmanager supports all common Windows, Linux and Unix
systems as well as the Pocket PC, Windows CE and EPOC32 operating
systems. The software is therefore suitable for all mobile
computers in Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ product range.
MOBILEmanager also supports automatic switching between different
communications networks (for example, WLAN --> GPRS or GPRS
--> UMTS) and hinders unwanted disconnections. Other features
include integrated data compression as well as numerous security
mechanisms.
The new partnership with adisoft was first announced today at
a Fujitsu Siemens Computers press event of in Palma de Mallorca,
where the company held its pan-European Mobility Day in association
with the Son Llàtzer Hospital. Industry experts, company
executives and press from across the region were brought together
to have a practical demonstration of mobility and wireless
solutions at work in a vertical corporate environment. The event
showcased the new STYLISTIC ST 5010 tablet PC featuring Intel®
Centrino™ mobile technology, wireless LAN and Microsoft®
Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition for Mobile Computing.
Customers and sales partners of Fujitsu Siemens Computers who
would like to gain hands-on experience with MOBILEmanager can
arrange an appointment at the Fujitsu Siemens Computers demo center
in Paderborn, Germany.
