CeBIT 2004 features an array of new products from Fujitsu
Siemens Computers
Munich/Germany, February 09, 2004 —Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Europe's leading IT company,
will be at center stage at CeBIT 2004, not only with complete
solution scenarios, but also with an assortment of new products.
Enterprise products:
PRIMERGY servers
Fujitsu Siemens Computers will present its new Intel-based
PRIMERGY BX 600 blade servers for the first time at CeBIT. Designed
for mid-tier applications like FlexFrameTM for mySAPTM Business
Suite, these servers are able to significantly raise efficiency in
data centers. Equipped with 10 dual Xeon-based blades in a chassis
comprising seven height units, they ensure flexible scalability as
well as low operating costs.
PRIMEPOWER servers
Also on display at CeBIT are new models from the PRIMEPOWER
family with SPARC64 processors running at a 1.3 GHz clock rate. The
resulting 30 percent performance improvement and doubling of memory
capacity make these units especially attractive for use in
applications in business critical computing environments.
Clients:
STYLISTIC tablet PC
The STYLISTIC ST5010 has a 12.1-inch display and weighs only
1.54 kg. Internet connections are taken care of by Intel®
Centrino™ mobile technology via integrated 54 Mbit/s wireless
LAN. One particularly attractive feature for mobile users is the
additional battery, which allows them to use the tablet PC on the
move for an entire working day (up to eight hours). Another novelty
being premiered at CeBIT is a new tablet PC version with outdoor
display.
LIFEBOOK S Series professional notebook
The new LIFEBOOK S7010, to be presented to the general public
for the first time at CeBIT, has a larger display than its
predecessor (14-inch instead of 13-inch), although both weight
(only 1.77 kg) and dimensions remain virtually unchanged. This
notebook, ideal for professional users, comes with a modular bay
and with an optional port replicator, also to be employed in the
coming generation of high-end LIFEBOOK E notebooks. The ability to
exchange components offers a range of practical advantages,
allowing users, for example, to swap accessories while en-route.
FUTRO B200 Thin client
Another novelty being displayed at CeBIT is the FUTRO family
of thin clients. When used in conjunction with special terminal
services, they can lead to a substantial reduction in total cost of
ownership. The FUTRO B200 is significantly more powerful than its
forerunner, the FUTRO B100, and comes in a greater number of
configurations. Additionally, Windows XP Embedded is now also
available alongside the eLux NG Linux operating system.
Consumer products:
AMILO notebooks for private users
A number of new models will be presented, from an entry-level
notebook with an AMD processor and enticing €999 price tag,
to systems with Intel Centrino Mobile Technology. Multimedia
notebooks with widescreen displays and powerful Radeon 9700
graphics will also be on display.
SCALEO consumer PCs
In the consumer desktop sector, the spotlight will fall on
two new models: the SCALEO C, an elegantly designed multimedia PC
for the living room. The SCALEO T, the trendy family PC with extra
computing performance will catch your eyes because of its brand new
design. In the "green version" the specific
characteristic of the SCALEO T is lead- and noise-reduction. The
latter will be available from retail outlets in May 2004.
ACTIVY Media Center
In their joint efforts to get a foothold in a new market
where the Internet and interactive television merge into one,
T-Online and Fujitsu Siemens Computers will be using CeBIT as a
launch pad for T-Online Vision and the ACTIVY Media Center. Among
the innovations presented for the first time will be the
video-on-demand service from T-Online.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers will also showcase a special new
product in the display area, to be announced prior to CeBIT.
