Fujitsu Siemens Computers unveils the first notebook with
Intel's latest Pentium M Processor technology
Munich, May 10, 2004 —At an Intel press event today, Fujitsu Siemens Computers
presented its new LIFEBOOK S7010. Intel’s innovative next
generation mobile processor (codenamed “Dothan” and
also officially launched today) is already integrated into the new
LIFEBOOK, taking its outstanding performance one step further. The
S7010, featuring the technological innovation of this 1.70 GHz
processor, is now available from specialty dealers for prices
staring at €2,990*.
Consisting of 140 million transistors, Intel’s new
Pentium M processor is manufactured with 2 MB second-level cache
and 90 nanometer semiconductor technology. The new architecture
provides 15 percent improved performance as well as a longer
battery life.
With only 1.75 kg and its modular bay, the LIFEBOOK S7010
redefines the 14-inch notebook class. The LIFEBOOK S Series with
its 14-inch display has been especially designed for frequent
travelers: an highly-portable notebook with latest technology which
offers maximum performance. The LIFEBOOK S7010’s modular bay
allows extremely flexible use. For example, a DVD writer can be
swapped for a second battery or hard drive almost instantly. The
security panel, integrated SmartCard controller and for made4you
customizing projects optional Trusted Platform Module, identify the
computer in the network and ensure secure authentication and data
protection.
