Munich / Germany, August 11, 2004 —Fujitsu Siemens Computers today announced the launch of PRIMERGY BX600 4-way Server Blade which is ideal for power-hungry data centers. The new blade will be available in August and is currently the most compact SCSI server blade worldwide. At a starting price of €8,000 (plus VAT), the BX600 is the ideal platform for power-hungry enterprise applications due to its high performance and flexibility.

The PRIMERGY BX600 Blade Server is the ideal answer to cope with the demands of modern corporate data centers and internet or application service providers. With an installation of up to 30 4-way servers in a 46-unit 19-inch rack, IT managers can use the optimal floor space in their data centres. AMS BG, Austria’s service provider for the un-employment Departement AMS, is currently testing the BX600 Blade Server for use as an e-mail server. Earlier tests illustrated its flexibility and scalability and as soon as the test phase is completed, the BX600 Blade Server will go live throughout the country.

The city council of Wolverhampton, London, UK recently implemented a completely new server technology solution based on the easy administration of BX300 and BX600 Blade Servers in order to provide the community with the best possible service and meet the legal requirement that city councils must offer all their public services online by the year 2005.
