Three New Workstations from Fujitsu Siemens Computers
Technology Enters a New Dimension
Munich / Germany, August 17, 2004 —Fujitsu Siemens Computers announces the market launch of
three new CELSIUS workstations: K330, M430, and R630. These new
workstations open the door to a new dimension in performance. In
addition to the latest processor technology, highlights include the
new PCI Express high-performance graphics interface combined with
the new PCI Express Open GL graphics cards and the Intel®
Extended Memory 64 Technology in models CELSIUS M430 with up to 4
GB and CELSIUS R630 with up to 16 GB of DDR2 memory. This
technology is fully compatible to conventional 32-bit applications.

Peter Eßer, Executive Vice President Volume Products and
Supply Operations at Fujitsu Siemens Computers, anticipates a
definite increase in demand for 64-bit systems and applications by
as early as 2005.
The PCI Express interface supports rates of up to 4 Giga
transfers per second. PCI Express will soon replace the
conventional AGP interface and enhance the performance of PCI
interfaces enabling a new generation of highly powerful 2D and 3D
graphics applications.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers has seamlessly integrated PCI
Express in mainboard designs and worked closely with all leading
graphics cards vendors. The entire system is designed for high
performance and reliability and certified by all major software
producers, among them UGS PLM, PTC, CATIA, CoCreate, Avid, Alias,
and Autodesk. As part of the made4you program, Fujitsu Siemens
Computers offer customer-specific configuration of all components,
including hardware from other vendors.
Ergonomics
With the optimized cooling concept, CELSIUS workstations are
the most silent workstations in the market. They fully comply with
strict environmental standards in production, material selection,
and recycling. The “green” mainboard of the CELSIUS
M430 is halogen-reduced and lead-free soldered. All workstations
are simple to upgrade and service.
Reliability
CELSIUS workstations offer the latest technologies, high
levels of component consistency, and numerous expandable functions
to ensure long product life cycles, thus guaranteeing system
continuity, leading to a reduction in IT costs. Fujitsu Siemens

CELSIUS K330
The entry-level workstation CELSIUS K330 is the perfect
solution for all customers requiring the performance of a
single-processor workstation in a small and convenient desktop
format. The reasonably priced multi-monitor solution based on
Nvidia Quadro 280NVS is ideal for the financial services sector who
work on several monitors simultaneously in the trading room.
The CELSIUS K330 has the latest Intel Pentium 4 processors
530 and 540 with Hyper-Threading technology and up to 3.2 GHz, a
D1931 system board with an Intel 915G chipset, up to 4GB PC400, DDR
Memory, and an integrated Intel GMB 900 graphics chipset. The
optional PCI Express x16 high-speed data bus supports multi-monitor
applications and mid-range professional 3D OpenGL graphics
programs. The system supports 2 serial ATA hard disk drives.
The CELSIUS K330 was awarded the Blue Angel Award
(“Blauer Engel”) for low-energy consumption and
recyclability.
CELSIUS M430
CELSIUS M430 is the first mid-range workstation from Fujitsu
Siemens Computers in a minitower and equipped with the powerful
PCI-Express graphics interface. The workstation is thus ideally
prepared for the next generation of graphics programs.
The highlights of CELSIUS M430 include an Intel Pentium 4
processor with Hyper-Threading and Intel® Extended Memory 64
Technology with 3.4 GHz, with 1 MB second-level cache, the Intel
925X chipset, and up to 4GB DDR2-533 SDRAM with ECC. The
workstation also has PCI-Express x1, four serial ATAA 2.0 hard disk
drives and optional RAID 0 or 1.
CELSIUS M430 with Intel® Extended Memory 64 Technology
exceeds the limits of conventional 32-bit systems. Additionally,
the new memory technology DDR2 provides better memory performance.
The powerful single-processor workstation offers a number of
graphics subsystems – from mid-range to high-end and numerous
upgrade options. The workstation is primarily designed for the
following applications: CAD and CAE applications, visualization and
virtual reality, financial services and analyses, digital content
creation (entry-level to mid-range) such as, for example, 3D
modeling and animation, design, 3D composition and effects, video
editing, as well as for publishing companies, layout and image
editing, and for software development and PC upscaling.
CELSIUS M430 comes with an environmentally friendly
halogen-reduced and lead-free soldered mainboard. No ecologically
harmful flame-proofing agents are used in the case, while
simultaneously complying with all flame protection regulations.
CELSIUS R630
The dual processor Xeon workstation CELSIUS R630 offers
high-end performance for sophisticated, compute-intensive
multi-processor applications for business segments such as CAD,
CAE, digital content creation, AEC, software development, and
financial services.
The two new Intel Xeon processors with 3.6 GHz use
Intel® Extended Memory 64 Technology and Hyper-Threading
technology. The DDR2 SDRAM has up to 16 GB for memory-intense
applications. The high-speed data bus PCI-Express x16 accommodates
the next generation of graphics applications. A dual channel SCSI
controller for fast rotating hard disk drives is included for high
speed storage access, and the RAID (0) and RAID (1) support for
SCSI and S-ATA disks accelerates storage speed.
