Fujitsu Siemens Computers Launches
Mobile Workforce Initiative
to Mobilize the Enterprise
Speaking the customer’s language about the benefits and
implementation of pragmatic end-to-end mobility
Munich / Germany, September 16, 2004 —As part of the mobile workforce initiative, Fujitsu Siemens
Computers are hosting a European Mobility tour to promote the
benefits of mobility and address the inhibitors preventing
organizations from getting the most out of the available technology
and to exhibit the latest mobility products. A series of speakers
from Fujitsu Siemens Computers, its partners, Intel and
International Data Corporation (IDC) will address the inhibitors
preventing organizations from getting the most out of the available
technology and help them to understand how to mobile-enable their
workforces in the most efficient and practical manner. The 2 week
European Mobile tour kicks off today at in Poland and will be going
to 13 other countries including France, Spain and Germany. The
event is aimed at companies, who are looking to mobile-enable their
workforce and want to understand the most efficient ways to adopt
the technology. As part of this initiative, Fujitsu Siemens
Computers is also announcing the launch of the Mobility Community
for corporate resellers as well as Small and Medium Enterprise
(SME) resellers. The Mobility Community is an EMEA wide community
of qualified/certified Resellers/Vars who specialize in selling
business mobiles and mobility solutions.
Mobility Community Vision is to target industry specific
vertical segments such as Banking and Finance, Manufacturing,
Retail/Wholesale, Education, Healthcare, Insurance amongst others
by introducing value added solution bundles in cooperation with the
Corporate Reseller and SME reseller. Fujitsu Siemens Computers will
work with the resellers on enabling them to providing solutions
that are pre-tested, preconfigured or packaged through to
implementation and support.
Today’s businesses are aware of the advantages of
mobility, particularly where it is crucial to have accurate and
timely data from remote locations but too often notebooks tend to
remain offline when out of the office. As a result, enterprises
fail to realize their full mobile potential. The Fujitsu Siemens
Computers Mobile Workforce Initiative was set up to help educate
enterprises overcome their mobility concerns on cost, security and
complexity. Fujitsu Siemens Computers and its partners want to help
customers overcome these inhibitors and tap into the potential of
mobility.
Louis Jouanny, Vice President Marketing, Mobility and
Business Critical Computing, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has launched
the Mobile Workforce initiative. “At Fujitsu Siemens
Computers we take a responsible approach to working with our
customers that want to adopt mobile solutions, because there is
more to mobility than simply telling someone what a notebook weighs
or the capacity of its hard drive. It’s all about taking a
pragmatic approach, using ‘real world’ situations to
demonstrate how mobility can work for our customers, so that they
can reap its benefits.
There are so many companies, of all sizes, that have not
embraced mobile computing in a comprehensive way due to concerns on
integration, security, ease of use and manageability and they are
being left behind. To stay ahead of the game IT managers need to
take a pragmatic approach to mobile solutions and look to adopt it
where it can achieve maximum benefit for their businesses.”
This initiative is part of a series of activities and
developments from Fujitsu Siemens Computers to strengthen one of
its strategic pillars, mobility. According to second quarter 2004
results, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has been ranked as the fastest
growing notebook manufacturer for the period. The events will
