Fujitsu Siemens Computers reports First Time Revenue Growth
for First-Half Fiscal Year*
Company celebrates fifth anniversary with double digit growth
in revenue and profit before tax
Augsburg/Germany, October 06, 2004 —Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT company,
announced fiscal year 2004 half-year financial results today.
President and CEO Bernd Bischoff announced at VISIT 2004 European
IT Forum, that the company delivered revenue growth for the first
time ever in the first-half of a fiscal year. The company, which is
celebrating its fifth anniversary, announced a revenue of €
2,560* million based on preliminary estimates or a growth
year-on-year of 15* percent. The company also announced a 60*
percent year-on-year growth in profit before tax of €18*
million for the first-half of the 2004/2005 fiscal year which runs
from April 2004 through September 2004.
The company recorded a 32* percent in unit volume growth
year-on-year for the first half. Based on the calendar year for the
last two quarters the company also outgrew the market in Europe,
Middle East and Africa (EMEA) by 8 percent (according to IDC 1Q and
2Q 2004 figures), over achieving its stated goals.
“We have shown healthy revenue and profit growth, and
our company continues to outperform the market. We are nevertheless
aware that competition remains very tough and that we always need
to go the extra mile for our customers”, said Bernd Bischoff,
President and CEO of Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “We have
learned over the past five years that to be successful, innovation
must be driven by customer requirements,” Bischoff continued.
“The market remains highly competitive; however we continue
to bring products and solutions to market which are well accepted
because they are designed to meet the needs of our
customers.”
Outlook: Continued performance ahead of market
For the remainder of the fiscal year, Fujitsu Siemens
Computers targets include: 5 percent revenue growth (at current
exchange rates) and to continue to outgrow the market by at least 5
