Munich/Germany, February 17, 2005 —With an exhibition area of more than 2000 square meters, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT company, will be one of the major exhibitors at CeBIT, March 10th – March 16th in Hanover, Germany. The company will showcase products and solutions for the Dynamic Data Center and the Mobile Workforce in Hall 1, Stand 5E2. In addition, visitors will be able to experience the Digital Home in Hall 26, Stand C32 and share Fujitsu Siemens Computers vision and home product offering.

The Dynamic Data Center
At CeBIT 2005, Fujitsu Siemens Computers will demonstrate key solutions and showcase cornerstone building blocks for the Dynamic Data Center. In a Dynamic Data Center, all hardware resources for computing and storage are pooled where they can be used on-demand. The allocation of resources to services happens automatically, based on pre-defined rules. When a change in users, capacity or requirements appears to the system, actions are triggered automatically, dynamically to provide the needed resource. A complete Dynamic Data Center is still a vision, but Fujitsu Siemens Computers is the only company providing first implementations available at customer sites today. Under the TRIOLE™ strategy for optimized IT by Fujitsu, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has, together with its partners, developed first products and solutions that serve as building blocks towards a Dynamic Data Center. The building blocks are based upon the most modern virtualization and automation technologies. As part of the TRIOLE strategy, Fujitsu Siemens Computers makes sure that the building blocks are seamlessly integrated into existing IT infrastructures to form the cornerstone of tomorrows Dynamic Data Center. By combining virtualization and automation technologies for Solaris, Linux, Windows and BS2000 servers as well as for market leading storage systems, significant improvements in efficiency, flexibility and reliability can be achieved.

Solutions for a Dynamic Data Center that will be showcased at stand 5E2 in Hall 1 by Fujitsu Siemens Computers include:
• FlexFrame™ – a dynamic IT infrastructure for mySAP based on Linux and Solaris. This is an implementation of utility, already available at customer sites today
• easyXchange - consolidation of mail server infrastructures using Exchange Server 2003
• Automated operation and maintenance of large Citrix terminal server farms
• CentricStor – virtualized tape infrastructure to consolidate back-up environments
• Adaptive Services Control Center (ASCC™) - Automated operation of server environments under Linux, Windows and VMware

At CeBIT, Fujitsu Siemens Computers will announce the following product news from the Dynamic Data Center range:

• Fujitsu Siemens Computers is launching the new 4-way PRIMERGY Rack and Tower Servers RX600 S2 and TX600 S2 at CeBIT 2005. Both make use of the latest Intel® Xeon® Processor with EM64T. These are the first Intel based 4-way servers to support 32 and 64 bit applications. They are the perfect choice to consolidate multiple smaller workloads onto fewer but more powerful servers, using the latest virtualization techniques from VMware or Microsoft. PRIMERGY RX600 S2 and TX600 S2 will be available in the first half of 2005.

• To overcome today’s heat barriers in data centres, Fujitsu Siemens Computers launches at CeBIT the PRIMECENTER LC (liquid cooling) rack. The encapsulated system ensures the cooling of the servers with a heat exchanger based on water circulation. This is the natural next step of the cool-safeTM design of the PRIMERGY servers, allowing customers to populate racks fully with PRIMERGY and PRIMEPOWER servers. The main benefits are heavily improved space utilization, better working conditions through reduced noise level (less than 55dB in 1 meter's distance) and resistance to dust, moist, and heat.

• The new SX150 Business Servers, will be presented to public at CeBIT for the first time, are based on the latest Spark64TM-Hardware-Technologie and push the performance of the SX Business Server top model by 40 per cent. As these systems support the parallel operation of BS2000/OSD operating system and Solaris, they are frequently used for IT consolidation.

• Fujitsu Siemens Computers will present new iSCSI based SAN solutions which will be one of the big themes at this years CeBIT. Further storage highlights from Fujitsu Siemens Computers will be the availability of the LTO-3-tape drive technology for the entire Nearline-Storage product portfolio and a new version of the Virtual Tape Appliance CentricStor supporting cache mirroring, for investment protection and consolidation, to deliver maximum data protection and efficiency of management through the entire information lifecycle.
