Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC team up to showcase at
CeBIT 2005 new solution based on SAP’s Adaptive Computing
capability in SAP NetWeaver™
Hanover/Germany, March 10, 2005 —Fujitsu Siemens Computers, one of the pioneers in realizing
the potential of SAP’s Adaptive Computing concept on the IT
infrastructure level, and EMC Corporation, the world leader in
information storage and management, are showcasing a new approach
for an adaptive, flexible and scalable IT infrastructure for the
mySAP™ Business Suite family of business solutions at CeBIT
2005 this week. The two companies will demonstrate Fujitsu Siemens
Computers FlexFrame™ solution for mySAP Business Suite with
an EMC® CLARiiON®-based storage area network (SAN).
SAP’s Adaptive Computing, a capability of the SAP
NetWeaver™ platform, allows the flexible management of
SAP® solutions by allowing to start, stop and relocate SAP
services within a network of servers. Fujitsu Siemens
Computers’ FlexFrame™ for mySAP Business Suite provides
central administration of the operating system and is the first
commercially available IT-infrastructure implementation of
SAP’s Adaptive Computing. Furthermore, FlexFrame™ is
the first IT infrastructure worldwide to have successfully passed
SAP’s Adaptive Computing Compliance Test. Over the last two
years, it has had a revolutionary impact in customers’ SAP
solution-based landscapes by helping them decrease costs and
increase flexibility and ease of use – all this by improved
manageability.
Listening to customers demands for improved productivity,
flexibility and total cost of ownership, Fujitsu Siemens Computers
has developed a new solution in conjunction with EMC. Fujitsu
Siemens Computers resells the full range of EMC networked storage
systems as well as EMC software as part of a relationship that
began in 1997.
The scalability, performance and availability of a Fibre
Channel SAN using EMC CLARiiON networked storage systems, which
Fujitsu Siemens Computers markets under the FibreCAT™ brand,
combined with the the ease of management and flexibility provided
by FlexFrame™ for mySAP Business Suite, enables maximum
storage utilization, comprehensive information protection and even
higher and predictable Service Levels in mySAP solution-based
environments. This solution can also be deployed with EMC
Symmetrix® DMX Series for high-end data storage requirements.
