Outlook remains unchanged: continued performance ahead of
market
The company will continue to build resources to help
customers innovate through its focus on two key strategic areas:
Mobility and Business Critical Computing (BCC). For the fiscal year
2005, which runs from 1 April 2005 through 31 March 2006, Fujitsu
Siemens Computers will continue to target a 5 percent revenue
growth ahead of the market (at current exchange rates). The
company’s primary growth areas are defined as: Products and
solutions that comprise the Dynamic Data Center including servers
and storage as well as supporting services, desktops which already
beat the strict EU standards for recyclability and mobility
products to enable the mobile workforce.
Fiscal Year 2005: The Dynamic Data Center
Just last week the company announced two major steps in
making the fiscal year 2005 the year of the Dynamic Data Center for
the company. On April 5 the company unveiled the new
PRIMEQUEST™ server line based on the Intel®
Itanium® 2 processor. The PRIMEQUEST server line combines data
center class fault immunity and high system scalability for
industry standard environments running Linux and Windows Server
2003 for Itanium-based systems. This makes it an ideal choice for
organizations wishing to realize the economic benefits and
flexibility of industry standard solutions without compromising
their business continuity. The new line was launched globally by
Fujitsu Limited in the Asia/Pacific region as well as Fujitsu
Computer Systems in North America and Fujitsu Siemens Computers in
Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
On the same day the company also announced that EMC
Corporation, the world leader in information storage and
management, will offer CentricStor from Fujitsu Siemens Computers
throughout Europe as part of the EMC Select program beginning in
May. The agreement gives customers with large data centers the
ability to conveniently acquire best-in-class technology to more
effectively and efficiently backup their data to tape.
