IFA 2005: Fujitsu Siemens Computers expands its consumer
portfolio
Hall 1.2, Stand 101: “Living Home – turn on your
life”: New products focus on integration and
user-friendliness
Munich/Germany, August 12, 2005 —The day of the digitally networked home has arrived. Fujitsu
Siemens Computers expects the IFA and the 2005 Christmas business
to signal the breakthrough for the digital revolution in the living
room and, with this in mind, the leading European IT provider is
expanding its product portfolio. At this year’s IFA, under
the motto “Living Home – turn on your life”, the
company will unveil several new, mutually compatible products
characterized by their outstanding user-friendliness and easy
integration into a home network. Visitors will find Fujitsu Siemens
Computers in Hall 1.2, Stand 101.
“We benefit from our many years of experience as an IT
manufacturer, because digital home entertainment is based primarily
on networking and integration, which are our core
competencies,” said Björn Fehrm, Senior Director Digital
Home of Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “Our new devices are not
only easy to operate and integrate into a home network, they also
provide top-notch quality for television, music and video.”
Enjoyment and simplicity
Under the motto “Living Home – turn on your
life”, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has developed a portfolio of
highly compatible products that includes a SCALEO E in an
attractive silver housing for the living room, new models of the
ACTIVY Media Center, a new ACTIVY Media Player and the new MYRICA
Media TV, an LCD TV with networking functionality. In response to
the growing importance in residential applications of a
centralized, fail-safe data storage system, Fujitsu Siemens
computers will be unveiling the Storagebird LAN, a system on which
audio, video and pictures can be easily stored and later
distributed to the different clients in the home.
PC for the living room and streaming media for the bedroom
With its SCALEO E, Fujitsu Siemens Computers presents a
Windows Media Center PC that features, for example, Dual SCART and
DVI connections. Its slim silver case and particularly its low
noise level make it an attractive addition to any living room. The
SCALEO E enables Fujitsu Siemens Computers to take advantage of the
headstart in the market which it was able to achieve with its
ACTIVY Media Center.
With its ACTIVY Media Player and the MYRICA Media TV, Fujitsu
Siemens Computers is presenting streaming devices that can play
audio, video and internet radio and are therefore suitable for
media consumption not only in the living room, but in the bedroom
as well.
High-definition-ready
Fujitsu Siemens Computers also turns the focus on high
definition, with the new ACTIVY Media Center 530/570, the ACTIVY
Media Player 150 and the MYRICA Media TV all supporting the new
high-definition formats. Together with HD-ready MYRICA television
sets, they set new standards in terms of picture and audio quality.
