LIFEBOOK Q2010: first 3G/UMTS embedded notebook now
available
Fujitsu Siemens Computers is offering unlimited Internet
access in cooperation with major mobile telecommunications
providers
Munich, June 19, 2006 —Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT provider,
is announcing the availability of the first 3G/UMTS embedded
notebook, the sophisticated and elegant LIFEBOOK Q2010. It’s
the ultimate executive notebook, giving users in Europe the
convenience and dependability of a broad base of mobile network
operators on the 3G/UMTS network via cooperation with: T-Mobile in
Germany and Austria, mobilkom austria in Austria, Orange in France,
Telefonica in Spain, Swisscom in Switzerland, Telenor in Norway,
Elisa in Finland, 3 in Sweden and in a number of Vodafone markets.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers has already started shipping the
LIFEBOOK Q2010, which is available through the company’s IT
reseller channel as well as from some of the UMTS network
providers. The embedded UMTS system integrates completely the UMTS
communication module and antenna which are up to now existing as
add-on cards which stick out of the computer. The great advantage:
no more clutter with external devices. Ease-of-use is highlighted
in all Fujitsu Siemens Computers UMTS enabled devices: the SIM card
can as easily be exchanged as in a normal mobile phone. Built-in
access to online information and applications at broadband and the
UTMS capability allows executives to work productively without
spending valuable time searching for hotspots.

notebooks and handhelds with embedded 3G/UMTS and HSDPA (high-speed
downlink packet access) capabilities for the notebooks, including:

- The CELSIUS H240 mobile workstation, available mid July

- The Pocket LOOX T810 and T830 handhelds, available in

LIFEBOOK Q2010
This executive notebook exemplifies the ultimate combination
of sophisticated design and exclusive materials with cutting-edge
mobility technology. The LIFEBOOK Q2010 is less than 20mm thin in
DIN A4 format. At a mere 1 kg, it’s extremely lightweight,
too. But what sets this exclusive model apart is the combination of
form, function and style. It was designed using only the finest
materials, with titanium hinges, magnesium housing and elegant
black piano lacquer finish. Prices are around €4,000 (incl.
VAT).
LIFEBOOK E8210
The LIFEBOOK E8210 with Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile
Technology was developed for demanding business applications such
as customer relationship management. The high performance notebook
enables high-speed wireless connectivity everywhere via embedded
UMTS. Outstanding widescreen functionality is delivered by the
brilliant 15.4-inch WSXGA+ display and optional best-in-class ATI
graphics performance. The robust design with magnesium casing lid,
the latest security technology and long battery life make sure
sensitive data is protected. Prices are around €2,300 (incl.
VAT).
CELSIUS H240
Combining workstation performance and notebook features, the
CELSIUS H240 with embedded UMTS gives professional users the
ability to synchronize their industry-grade 3D workstation
applications and enables collaborative design anywhere the users
desire. While doing so, the latest generation of professional
mobile graphics delivers the performance and features they require.
Its modular bay concept supports optical drives, a second hard disk
drive or a second battery to prolong the operating time
significantly, making the system an even more flexible companion.
Enhanced security features secure business critical data and
prevent unauthorized access. The CELSIUS H240 will hit the shelves
for prices around € 2,800 (incl. VAT).
Pocket LOOX T Series
With Microsoft® Windows Mobile™ 5.0 software and
UMTS functionality, the Pocket LOOX T Series enables direct e-mail
push, appointment calendar and other Microsoft Office applications
from anywhere. This all-in-one handheld is the perfect device for
the traveling business user, also featuring a standard QWERTY
keyboard and brilliant TFT display. This high-end device will
arrive at shops for prices of around €700.
