Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Oracle and NetApp Help IT Managers to Simplify the Complex

European-wide Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Symposium to take place across 12 countries

Munich, September 13, 2006 —Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Oracle and NetApp today announced that they will partner together to host SOA Symposium 2006: Dynamic Infrastructure for Oracle, a road-show comprised of 20 events in 13 countries across EMEA to be held between September and December. The SOA Symposium will provide IT decision maker attendees from enterprise and midsized organisations with a timely, detailed look at the business benefits of service oriented architecture (SOA) as well as implementation strategies and solutions.

“With interest in SOA building across Europe, the time is right to help educate professionals on how to take SOA from concept to reality,” said Dieter Herzog, Executive Vice President Enterprise Products, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “Although many IT professionals are broadly aware of the strategic and competitive advantages of SOA, they are less sure how it could impact their business, or how they should approach and implement it. The Symposium will give attendees the useful and practical information they’ve been looking for.”

The Symposium sessions – led by local market experts from Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Oracle and NetApp – will provide an in-depth look at SOA and how it will develop in the future; a thorough examination of the potential benefits; a guide to best practice implementation; and a review of the technology solutions available. Many of the sessions will be supported by technology demonstrations and case studies showcasing return on investment scenarios.

“The agenda we’re providing is ideal for those looking to quickly yet thoroughly get up to speed on all aspects of SOA, from concept to strategy development to technology procurement,” continued Herzog. “It’s also a great opportunity to compare notes with industry peers and get all the questions you were ‘afraid to ask’ answered.”

Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Oracle: market leaders in SOA

Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Oracle are experts in SOA. Together, they provide FlexFrame for Oracle, the industry’s first integrated, dynamic end-to-end SOA infrastructure solution. Based on Oracle Grid Technology, FlexFrame for Oracle enables companies to optimise their IT capacity through the use of Oracle’s Fusion middleware platform. In doing so, FlexFrame for Oracle is setting industry standards for cost reduction and quality of service.

“It’s important to remember that those interested in SOA should ideally have a flexible, agile IT infrastructure in place that supports this approach,” said Herzog. “Fujitsu Siemens Computers is the only vendor today to have a dynamic IT solution for Oracle. Together, Fujitsu Siemens and Oracle can supply companies with all the advice and building blocks they need to plan and initiate a SOA strategy.”
