Triple certification guarantees unbeatable
service standards
Fujitsu Siemens Computers IT Product Services (ITPS)
world’s first to receive certification according to ISO
standards 20000-1, 27001 and 9001 for its international management
system with central governance
Augsburg/Germany, November 14, 2006 —Fujitsu Siemens Computers IT Product Services (ITPS) has been
awarded the certificate ISO 20000-1:2005 (IT service management -
ITIL). This makes ITPS the first leading IT service provider to be
awarded the three most important certifications currently
available. Alongside ISO 20000-1, ITPS has been granted ISO 27001
(information security) and ISO 9001:2000 (quality management)
certification in one standardized management system. Customers are
thus guaranteed that all services provided by Fujitsu Siemens
Computers ITPS meet top-of-the-range standards.
Markus Werckmeister, an external Senior Auditor at DQS (the
German Association for the Certification of Management Systems),
presented the certificates to Neil Allpress, Executive Vice
President ITPS, at the Fujitsu Siemens Computers VISIT 2006 IT
conference in Augsburg. He congratulated the company on being the
first IT service provider to implement an international management
system that conforms to the standards ISO 9001:2000 (quality
management), ISO 27001:2005 (information security) and ISO
20000-1:2005 (IT service Management - ITIL) – all in a
governance structure with central management. Werckmeister said:
"This combination certificate requires a high level of
commitment and quality awareness
on the part of all employees. The teams involved around the
globe have put in a great performance."
Neil Allpress commented: "Service is people business and
a matter of trust. A service organization needs to be fit enough
for a certification process implementing quality processes into
practice in such a way that they make an impact for our customers.
These certificates give us a clear and unique advantage in the
market. At the same time and as importantly they support us in the
continuous improvement of our innovative service processes so that
we can stay out in front both now and into the future.”
ISO standards are a prerequisite for complex IT Services
orders. The triple certification,
especially alignment with the ITIL principles defined in the
20000-1 standard, allows Fujitsu
Siemens Computers ITPS to offer its customers even better
services with the same high standards in terms of quality and
speed. ITIL describes the processes necessary to operate an
IT infrastructure. IT services offered are identified and
systematically optimized, both internally and externally, in
accordance with certified quality processes. This helps drive the
continuous improvement of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and
Operational Level Agreements (OLAs).
For customers' business processes this means flexible,
reliable and cost-effective support.
