Notebooks with Sony-Cell-Batteries
Fujitsu Siemens Computers offers battery replacement for
certain notebook form factors
Munich/Germany, February 05, 2007 —As previously announced, Fujitsu Siemens Computers have been
offering a voluntary replacement program for Sony-made battery
packs in specified Fujitsu Siemens Computers notebook PC models
since last October. To date, however, many individual users with
battery packs subject to the replacement program have not yet
applied. We would once again encourage customers to confirm whether
their Fujitsu Siemens Computers notebook PCs are subject to the
program and, if affected, apply for replacement of the battery pack
as soon as possible.
At the end of last year we received a report of an incident
with a battery pack in a Fujitsu Siemens Computers LIFEBOOK subject
to the voluntary replacement program. Upon receiving the incident
report we immediately launched an investigation in cooperation with
Sony. To date, the results of this investigation suggest that the
cause of the incident was related to Sony's battery cell, and
the potential emergence of further incidents is extremely low.
Nevertheless, we would once again like to inform our
customers on how to identify whether their notebook PC is subject
to the voluntary battery pack replacement program.
Subject to this voluntary replacement program are only
certain batteries of the following models:
- LIFEBOOK C1320
- LIFEBOOK P1510
- LIFEBOOK P7120
- LIFEBOOK Q2010
- LIFEBOOK S7020 / S7020D
- LIFEBOOK S7010
- LIFEBOOK T4210
- AMILO Pro V8010
- AMILO Si 1520
