NetWorker Fast Start Delivers Speedy Data Protection for Mid-sized Businesses
Simplified wizard-based feature opens the door to powerful data protection solutions for medium-size businesses
Munich, May 21, 2008 —
Fujitsu Siemens Computers today announces the introduction of NetWorker Fast Start, which delivers an enterprise class backup and recovery solution packaged and consumable for medium-sized businesses.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers is dramatically simplifying the set-up, installation and licensing of NetWorker Fast Start in comparison to other backup and recovery solutions, making it an attractive offering for medium-size businesses. Organizations using NetWorker Fast Start benefit from automated backup, fast restore times and lower administration costs in setting up and managing their system.
NetWorker Fast Start from Fujitsu Siemens Computers combines a simple license package with a powerful installation and auto-configuration wizard. Through quick and easy set up of the solution, customers can start protecting their business-critical data in heterogeneous environments within just one day – a major reduction on the time and complexity of a manual installation.
The standard NetWorker Fast Start solution from Fujitsu Siemens Computers features a
NetWorker server with 20 NetWorker clients, five database modules (choice between Oracle, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL modules in any combination), and storage capacity of backup-to-disk for 10TB or backup-to-tape for 40 slots, or a Virtual Tape Library capacity of 10TB.
The client-server architecture of NetWorker Fast Start delivers superior scalability and performance from small LANs in workstations through to enterprise-wide networks. The software can also be expanded or upgraded to the full version of NetWorker, adding additional functionality and support.
Managed via an easy-to-use graphical user interface, NetWorker Fast Start enables users to control all backup and restore operations, which are then scheduled to run automatically. NetWorker Fast Start from Fujitsu Siemens Computers supports disk and tape devices as well as Virtual Tape Appliances, such as CentricStor.
