Perfectly In-Sync: Microsoft SyncToy to Ship With STORAGEBIRD from Fujitsu Siemens Computers

External storage devices include new Microsoft tool on installation CD

Munich, June 20, 2008 -

Keeping in sync files stored on Fujitsu Siemens Computers external storage devices will be easier in future for consumers and business users alike, thanks to the inclusion of Microsoft SyncToy with STORAGEBIRD products.

 

Starting this summer, Microsoft SyncToy will start shipping with STORAGEBIRD products, Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ range of hard drive-based external storage devices for business and consumer use. SyncToy is an easy to use, customizable application that helps users to copy, move, rename, and delete files between folders and computers. Fujitsu Siemens Computers will also be working together with Microsoft on seamless synchronization, backup, and restore for future external storage device products.

 

SyncToy, powered by the Microsoft Sync Framework, will be included on the installation CD with STORAGEBIRD products, starting with the USB-connected range of 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch external drives. Existing STORAGEBIRD users who want to take advantage of the seamless file synchronization capabilities between computers running Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Vista can also obtain the SyncToy as a free download from Microsoft’s website.
