IFA 2008: Fujitsu Siemens Computers presents "Next Generation Tower"
Fujitsu Siemens Computers presents this year’s product highlights for tomorrrow’s requirements.
Munich, August 29, 2008 —
Europe’s leading infrastructure provider will present itself in Hall 13 on August 29, 2008, entirely in black and white, thus reflecting its new “core and shell” design language. Consumers can admire the latest product highlights and innovative solutions from Fujitsu Siemens Computers in an area covering 650 square meters. The entire consumer portfolio can be seen in its new standardized design language for the first time at the IFA (a large consumer electronics fair). This unique black & white design means that notebooks, PCs, displays and accessories work perfectly together on an aesthetic level as well. In addition to this, Green IT at a consumer level again plays a significant role for this year’s exhibitors. In the so-called Green Corner of the Fujitsu Siemens Computers stand, particularly “green” products, such as the first zero-watt monitor SCENICVIEW P22W-5 ECO and the second generation of the popular Green PC SCALEO Li will be on display.
First consumer products in the new design language
The AMILO 3000 series not only looks good; it has a top-quality design, intuitive operation and offers a wide range of technical innovations.
The notebooks have, for example, a spill-proof keyboard to stop liquid inadvertently getting inside your notebook. The models have an integrated tray which can hold over 50 ccm – giving you enough time to save your data and switch off the notebook, so that an accident doesn’t become a catastrophe. Equally practical is the "silent-mode" function, which greatly reduces fan noise. This helps the user to concentrate on his work or watch a DVD or relax and enjoy some music in peace. Furthermore, each AMILO notebook in this series has an integrated webcam coupled with two array microphones – which means nothing stands in the way of a video chat. The integrated WLAN provides access to the Internet wherever you are. An additional standard feature is the display's BrilliantView technology, which provides a wide viewing angle and ensures best picture quality with its LED background illumination.

A Notebook for every lifestyle
The AMILO P Notebooks are the perfect all-rounder product for entertainment-focused users. Two IFA highlights are the Pi 3525 and the Pi 3540. The AMILO Pi 3525 with 15.4" screen and BrilliantView technology as well as a battery time of up to 3.5 hours is ideal when on the road. The system is perfect to help you stay connected, with features such as DVI-I, eSATA, USB 2.0, S/PDIF and 15-in-1 card reader. The AMILO Pi 3525 is ideal for mobile communication and multimedia entertainment, with a range of options including a built-in webcam or a SuperMultiFormat DVD writer. As well as this, state-of-the-art Intel® Mobile processor technology and an external NVIDIA® graphics card with 256 MB Video RAM makes the AMILO Notebook Pi 3540 perfect for film and computer game fans: the HDMI interface with HDCP support seamlessly transfers Hollywood blockbusters to flat screens and displays.
The compact, diverse and powerful AMILO S Notebook is perfectly suited to modern city commuters and frequent travellers. With the AMILO Notebook Si 3655 Fujitsu Siemens Computers presents at the IFA a worthy successor to its 13.3” consumer notebooks, weighing only 2.3kg with a long battery life of up to 4.5 hours.
The X Series rounds off the AMILO Notebook Portfolio. This model has been specially designed for multimedia fans and users who require powerful graphics.
Extravagant PC power for the home
Just like its notebook cousins, the AMILO Desktop family is also designed to meet a range of customer requirements. The AMILO S Desktop series with its compact housing in the new core&shell design is primarily aimed at small form factor fans. But don't be fooled by the size of the AMILO Si 3535. The small 8-litre volume Desktop PC offers state-of-the-art chipsets and processor technology. Its standard integrated WLAN and silent operation mode makes the mini desktop ideal for home office use.
The AMILO L Desktop series, with its range of features, has something for the whole family . Be it surfing the net, digital photo and video processing or writing CDs and DVDs - the AMILO L is a universal and powerful multimedia PC for Mum & Dad as well as the kids.
The AMILO P Desktop series is designed to meet high-end requirements in the multimedia and games segment. This heavyweight PC offers high performance for both work and play. This Premium range can meet all gaming and Internet demands and is also a highly efficient backup solution for the home office.
AMILO displays : a vision of the future
The AMILO monitors provide a standardized desktop view, all in the new design language. The AMILO XL display series is primarily designed for multimedia users; the AMILO SL display series is the home office all-rounder and the AMILO L display models are designed for the price-conscious user. The AMILO Display XL 3220W is one of the first models and will be available in German stores just in time for the IFA.
Green Corner
Fujitsu Siemens Computers has created a "green corner" in Hall 13 this year where particularly environment-friendly products will be presented. In addition to the power-saving desktop PC SCALEO Li 2410 Green Edition, which meets the requirements defined by the Blue Angel, Nordic Swan and Energy Star 4.0 standards, you can also marvel at our new, innovative "zero-watt monitor".
The key to the P22W-5 ECO monitor is the unique way it saves energy: at the touch of an “ECO” button, the monitor can be configured to use zero watts of energy in standby mode.
A great show for all
In addition to the latest products and solutions, Fujitsu Siemens Computers is also presenting an exciting entertainment program on a 70 sq. meter stage. Precise choreography and breath-taking illusions: professional trapeze artists, aerial acts and dancers. Visitors to the exhibition can also take part in daily raffles with attractive prizes.
