Product, solution and services launches form highlights of Fujitsu’s annual customer conference VISIT09

Munich, November 18, 2009 -

At its annual customer conference VISIT09 in Munich, Germany, Fujitsu today announces the availability of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), underlining its focus on delivering comprehensive solutions to world-class customers on a global scale. With “Infrastructure-as-a-Service for Server”, Fujitsu adds the first offering to the upper level of its Dynamic Infrastructures portfolio. In a further announcement, Fujitsu and NetApp today declared that they will deepen their partnership globally and jointly develop integrated products and services enabling shared customers to drive greater value and efficiencies from their IT infrastructures.

Responding to market needs for cost reduction and flexibility in times of economic insecurity, as well as reflecting the megatrends of virtualization and cloud computing, Fujitsu completes its transformation into a global IT solutions provider with the three-layer Global IT portfolio made up of Dynamic Infrastructures, Application Services and Business Services.

Kai Flore, President & CEO at Fujitsu Technology Solutions, says: “Fujitsu now boasts a global IT portfolio that is in tune with current trends and economic climates, and truly focused on local markets. Furthermore, our attention to meeting individual customer needs differentiates Fujitsu from competitors as we take our place as a top four global IT services and computing systems provider.

“We introduced Dynamic Infrastructures a year ago as the cornerstone of Fujitsu’s global IT portfolio. Today, by putting the finishing touches to our customer-centric Dynamic Infrastructures portfolio, and in deepening our long-standing partnership with NetApp, we step up to the next level,” adds Flore.

New products, solutions and services

Fujitsu is using VISIT09 as the launch-pad for new products, solutions and services that crown the four layers of its Dynamic Infrastructures solutions portfolio.

More than 6000 customers from around the world are attending Fujitsu’s two-day VISIT09 conference. The event focuses on topics including IT trends in a mature market, and discusses the latest innovations and hot topics including utility computing and the ongoing popularity of virtualization, with keynote speakers from Fujitsu and partners including Intel, SAP and NetApp.

Customers can chose their individual set up which is configured on Fujitsu’s Infrastructure-as-a-Service portal; their network connection to server resources is via a secured VPN internet connection, instead of a network connection to a server room. The new offering is available immediately.
